A father’s dream, opened by his four sons

Years ago, Mohammed Alshara opened a restaurant with a partner. When the partnership ended, the restaurant closed, but the dream did not. His four sons grew up hearing about it.

In April 2025 they opened Babylon Kabob together and put their father back where he belongs: at the charcoal grill, cooking the food he has loved his whole life.

Hands down the best meal we've had in a long time. This is a family run business and they are amazing. The staff were all so professional, kind, courteous, and above and beyond. The food was perfectly made and absolutely delicious! We ordered the Quzi, chicken shawarma, lentil soup, the stew, fattoush salad, baba ganoush, and the breads. Definitely go here! Highly recommend! Everything was phenomenal!

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. The fresh lamb quzi is unreal - perfectly tender, deeply flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. The meat skewers are just as impressive - juicy, beautifully seasoned, and grilled to that ideal balance of char on the outside while staying incredibly moist inside. A huge shoutout to their 30-year grill master, goes by "Amo Mohammed." You can truly taste the experience and mastery behind every dish.

We took a chance and stopped at Babylon Kabob and were pleasantly surprised. The owners were very friendly and welcomed us. The food was beyond what we expected. The lamb shank fell off the bone and the accompanying Fattoush and Stew were absolutely delightful. The Chicken Tawook sandwich was well made with just the right amount of seasoning and flavors. On the way out the owner gave us a small bite of beef shawarma. Wow. It was delicious. This is a small family owned business that is well worth the try.

My favorite restaurant for Iraqi food!! As an Iraqi myself, it's hard to find good, clean, and great tasting restaurants that serve traditional Iraqi food. My mom and I have dined here multiple times and we keep coming back for the amazing food and even better customer service. Definitely recommend!!

The second we walked in we knew this was about to be the best food we've had in a long time. It smelled so AMAZING. The hummus? The best I've had in my life by far (and I've had a lot of hummus.) The lentil soup? So good I didn't even put lemon in it. The kabob itself? SO much flavor I'll be thinking about it for weeks. Will be recommending to literally everyone I know.

Babylon Kabob was the highlight of my wife's and my day trip from West Michigan. The food was outstanding. My wife ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich, and I had the beef shawarma entree which was easily enough food for two people, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Service was just as good as the food. If I had a place like this near home, I'd be there weekly.
